As a candidate for the school board, I believe that the foundation of any thriving community begins with the education of its young people. Academics are at the heart of this mission, and it is through strong, rigorous educational programs that we empower our students to succeed in an increasingly complex world.

We have to balance the needs of our students with the financial realities of our taxpayers. We must ensure that our schools are properly funded to offer robust educational opportunities, yet we also have to be mindful of the financial burden on our residents, especially those on fixed incomes or struggling economically. I will advocate to keep the tax levy flat. 

As a candidate for the school board, I believe every student deserves a safe, supportive learning environment. Bullying—whether physical, emotional, or online—undermines our students' ability to succeed and thrive. I’m committed to tackling this issue head-on and ensuring all students feel safe and valued.

As a school board candidate, one of the most pressing issues facing our educational system today is the need to pay teachers and support staff competitive wages. Teachers and support staff are the backbone of our education system, shaping the minds and futures of our children. It is essential that we recognize their value and ensure they are compensated fairly for the critical work they do.

I had the opportunity to attend D158 Curriculum Night in November, where I reviewed data that underscored an important reality: the learning loss from the pandemic continues to impact our students. This revelation is one of the key reasons I am running for the D158 School Board. My focus is on ensuring the current and future academic success of all students in our district.
