Meet the Burns Family!

Hi, I’m Corine Burns, and I’m proud to announce my candidacy for the D158 School Board! My family and I have called Algonquin, IL, home for the past nine years. We moved here specifically for the amazing Huntley D158 schools, and we couldn’t be happier with the sense of community we’ve found here.

My husband, Ryan Burns, and I have been married for 11 wonderful years. Together, we’re raising four incredible kids who keep us on our toes and fill our lives with joy.

Our Kids:

4th grader: He’s an athlete through and through, playing baseball with Huntley Little League 47's, basketball, and flag football through the park district. Ryan loves coaching his teams and even serves on the Little League Board of Directors!
3rd grader: Our little cheerleader is involved with HCA cheer, basketball through the park district, and tumbling. Her enthusiasm is contagious!
Kindergartener: Following in her big sister’s footsteps, she’s also involved in HCA cheer and tumbling, and we love watching her confidence grow.
Sophomore stepdaughter: While she attends school in another district, she’s a cherished part of our family. She’s actively involved in her school plays, and we love supporting her creative pursuits!

Family Life:
Community and family are at the heart of everything we do. Whether we’re cheering on our kids at games or competitions, enjoying family dinners, hosting game nights, or heading out for a camping trip, we prioritize time together. Summers are spent on beach vacations or under the stars while camping—creating memories that will last a lifetime.

I’m passionate about giving back to the community that has given us so much. My family’s deep involvement in D158 schools and local activities has inspired me to bring my perspective as a parent, volunteer, and advocate to the school board.

I believe in fostering a strong partnership between families, schools, and the community. Together, we can ensure all our students have the opportunities they need to thrive.
